Pals May Blog Hop “Stepping Up With Textures or Techniques”

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for May 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring projects that are “stepped up” by using textures or fun techniques. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

For today's project I made a card exploding in a box.  This is my first attempt at this technique.  I followed these instructions on how to cut my card stock and layer it.  To decorate the inside in a flower garden theme, I stamped the smallest flowers using the petite petals stamp set in versa mark and embossed them in gold.  Then I used the pansy punch for the blushing bride flowers and lastly I used the bird builder punch (retiring item) for the flower stems in pear pizzazz.  The butterflies are made using pear pizzazz from the bold butterfly framelits.  The design series paper comes from the Occasions Catalog Love Blossom Design Series Paper Stack that is still available until May 31.  Here is a close up of the gold embossed petite petals.
This was a fun gift box project that you can fit a cupcake or a small gift inside.  Here is a close up of the box top.  I used the curvy corner trio punch (retiring item) on the top corners.  When you lift the top off, the box opens up and explodes with all the flowers and butterflies :)

Here is the color trio that I used for this project:
